Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey, you were born in Ghana on August 9, 1932. After your secondary Education at Ghana National College in 1952, you pursued the ‘A’ Level at University Tutorial College in London England and continued at Borough Polytechnic now University of South Bank, England.
Your brilliant academic performance showed at the initial stages of your formal education.
You subsequently obtained the Master and Doctorate Degrees in Mathematical Physics all in the Princeton University, New Jersey, USA.
You began your illustrious career at the University of Science and Technology, now Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and became the First Ghanaian full Professor of Mathematics in Ghana in 1973.
Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey you have served on both local and international committees as well as Chairman and patron to several of them.
You also have rich research experience in Mathematical Physics, Nuclear and Renewable Energy, Information Technology, Scientific and Academic Administration.We are happy to note that you are also a consultant to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
You are a founding Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Information Technology as well as Honourable Fellow of various Professional, Learned Societies and various recognized Academies including the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) and the Royal Astronimical Society.
Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey, you have received various National and International Awards and Honours . These include Order of Volta (Ghana) for outstanding contribution to Science and Science Education, Millennium Excellence Award for Science and Environment, Millennium Award Personality of decade Ghana, three (3) Doctoral Awards (Honoris Causa) in Science from Karlstad University, Sweden (2006), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2003) and the University of Cape Coast (1998).
You have continuously rendered such selfless and dedicated service to a number of international and National Organizations. You have serve on sixty-one (61) International Organisations both in your area of study and others in general.
Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey, you have published over sixty-five (65) papers in International Journals, contributed immensely to Mathematics Education in Ghana and abroad and have delivered several seminars in Universities in the United States of America, Europe, Asia and Africa in your area of study.
You have acted as External Examiner and also as an External Assessor for Professorial Appointments for Universities in and outside Ghana.
