Achievements

  1. Lead Developer, Online Claim Processing and Approval System – Worked in a team involving the Head of IT, the Finance Officer and the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance Division to design and develop a claim approval and processing system to mitigate the bottle-necks associated with the manual system such as Interference with work as a result of physical tracking of claims, risk of loss/mix-up of applications and supporting documents as claims are physically moved around, delayed workflow and inability to track claims by claimants, also cutting down 70% of paper.
  2. Lead Developer, Electronic Payslip and Approval System – Successfully designed, developed and implemented an Electronic Payslip System (UEW-XPay) with a team of 2 software developers and 3 key finance staffs. The approval section of the system ensured that heads of departments and divisions approve staffs who are directly under them - succeeding in removing “ghost” names and ensuring that staffs who do not work up to the full number of days in the month are deducted before payments are made. Also achieved cutting down cost and reducing to about 99% of papers spent on printing payslips every month for staffs in our main and three satellite campuses.
  3. Lead Developer, Human Resource Management System – Worked with HR closely to revamp the Human Resource Management System and automate some processes to take care of staffs in main and satellite campuses.
  4. Lead Developer, Application and Admission System – Lead developer of a team of 3 developers and 5 admission officers in our main and three satellite campuses to successfully design, develop and implement a new online application and admission system to resolve or completely eradicate the numerous challenges with legacy systems.
  5. Adviser, API or Fees Payment Gateway – Advised and assisted the company providing fee payment solution to the University to efficiently and seamlessly integrate with in-house application and admission systems. This resolved prospective students’ inability and delay in paying fees after being offered admission. This also removed the manual loading of data unto payment platform, with its associated issues.
  6. Developer, Notification and Messaging System – Developed and integrated efficiently, a bulk messaging and notification system using Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) specification with existing application systems.
  7. Developer, Meeting Organising System – Designed and developed a meeting organising system (UEW-X-Meeting) for management, divisions and faculties to collaboratively compose agenda, capture decisions taken and actions defined, and making meeting topics and documents directly accessible to members belonging to committees.
  8. LDAP Integration with existing System – Worked closely with the systems administrator to incorporate our LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) service, which was only for email authentication, with a number of developed applications to provide a “single source of truth”, where users log in with the same credential to access any service on campus. This helped reduced password fatigue for end users.
